Getting to Saint John
After you fly into STT on Saint Thomas, Saint John is just a short ferry ride away! Depending on your arrival time you have two ferry options both dropping you in downtown Cruz Bay:
Red Hook to Cruz Bay Ferry: Take A 30-minute taxi ride straight from the airport to Red Hook where you can catch a 15-minute Ferry to Cruz Bay. Charlotte Amalie to Cruz Bay Ferry: Depending on your arrival time this option saves time in a taxi, with a more direct, thought longer Ferry ride. Take a 10-minute taxi ride to downtown Charlotte Amalie, and then a 40-minute ferry to St. John. Currently these Ferries leave three times a day. Check the Schedule to see which option best fits your arrival.
Getting to Aqua Bay Villas
Once you arrive at the St. Thomas Airport and have your luggage we ask our guests to call or text our Villa Property Manager, Dena: (340)-514-2769 to let her know which ferry you will be arriving on.
Aqua Bay is located a 12-minute walk from the ferry dock or a short taxi ride – Our Address is 238 Seagrape Street. Walking or driving from town you will take the hill up pastGallows Point towards Frank Bay. As you reach the bottom of the hill into Frank Bay take the first left at Seagrape Street. Continue about 1 block up the hill and you will see Aqua Bay’s stone and shell wall on your right. Street-sideParking or one covered spot on site are available.
A FEW ANSWERS TO THE COMMON QUESTIONS WE HEAR FROM GUESTS:
Do I need a Passport to visit the USVI? A passport is highly recommended for your visit while technically it is not required to arrive. Traveling with a passport will ensure a smooth return through US Customs on your return. Also, if you elect to take a day trip over to the British Virgin Islands, you will need a passport, so it is always a good idea to have one.
Do I need to rent a car to enjoy St John? While several beaches and downtown Cruz Bay are walk-able from our Villa, a taxi or car will open the island up to you! Don’t forget, when you drive the roads of St John, Keep Left!
Should I bring cash down with me? While most restaurants and stores accept credit cards, cash is always handy. Island power outages sometimes affect credit card readers and a handful of establishments are still cash only. There are several ATM machines in Cruz Bay if you need them.
Is there reliable Internet? Aqua Bay has high speed Wi-Fi throughout all the villa suites including the pool deck and gazebo. Service is as reliable as the power allows – outages are common but typically resolved quickly.
Where can I find Beach Gear during my stay? Beach chairs with attached umbrellas, beach towels and a small cooler are all available to you at Aqua Bay Villas. Snorkel equipment, paddle boards, Kayaks and other water sports toys may be rented at several establishments right in Cruz Bay. For baby and toddler rental equipment check out Island Baby.
